As a final project in the second year of university, I had the honour to collaborate with some of my peers - talented illustrators and dear friends - in creating a young audience picture book.

The book follows the theme of ‘Communication’ and the narrative revolves around a rumour being passed along a group of four children. This rumour eventually spirals out of control, and the monster they created grows throughout the book.

The team consisted of four students, including myself. We each had different roles, one team member drew the monster character, another the backgrounds and myself and the fourth team member were in charge of the child characters. We sat together, created concepts for the characters, and spoke about things we liked and didn’t like. We illustrated each of the characters in our own styles and, in the final book, split them evenly between us - in the finals, I illustrated Priya and Hannah.

Overall, this project was exciting, with lively characters and a humorous ending. Some of my fondest memories involve creating this book with my peers.
